Msimmen

Msimmen, also known as Moroccan pancakes, are a popular traditional dish in Morocco. These thin and pliable dough patties are prepared from a simple mixture of flour, water, yeast and salt. The dough is carefully rolled out and generously brushed with olive oil to give it moisture and flavor. Then fold the dough into rectangular shapes and fry in a pan until golden brown and slightly crispy. Msimmen are often served for breakfast or tea and can be spread either savory with olive oil, honey or jam. They are versatile and can also be prepared with different fillings such as cheese, minced meat or vegetables. Msimmen are a treat for the senses and a delicious addition to any meal in Morocco.
